Cola Crates & Repurposed Metal

i re-did the landing spot/shoe shelf in the hallway. we picked up a sweet cola crate from a flea market a few weeks ago and i finally used it for all the random things (name tags, keys, pens, etc) that we keep in the hall.

what wouldn't fit was put into a copper pot. we got a couple of these for free from leftover yard sale stuff, the other is in the kitchen.

my favorite new thing is a piece of metal we found on the farm. we just cleaned it up, stuck it on the wall and now it is a magnetic memo board! much more industrial farmhouse than what was there, very happy!

What I'm Wearing 4

i have been experimenting and playing with my clothes, so that is what you get to see!

this is an almost entirely new outfit, which is rare for me.

*fun fact* i have no idea how my ankles curve so much. i am made of rubber.
i finally got a girl black belt (no more using my husband's belt!) and this one, has an adorbs owl on it.

i also finally got a white dress, something i've been needing for a while. very happy with this one.

(hello, derp smile. i still like this picture though! *note* normal smiles are not usually so derp)

my old black shoes recently died, so i picked up some new lace black shoes. they are some comfy cute!

and my same old black cardigan, still working hard.

breakdown:
dress: Ross $13
Tights: Shoe Show $7
Shoes: Walmart $8
Belt: Rue 21 (love) 8$
Cardigan: Target $23ish

a bit about the accessories....the necklace was made by me (post here) from an old paintbrush.

the ring is from an excellent thrift shop in Murfreesboro, The Funky Trunk.

and the lovely vintage cameras were free to me, found in some old peoples' stuff.

Around the House

sharing some pictures of my new home decor. as previously stated, i am moving from rainbow hippie to more industrial farmhouse. things i have that i love so far (mostly thrifted/free):

Wedding Photo Display

a couple of months ago, my new brother-in-law and his lovely girlfriend sent us some pictures from our wedding. after sitting in an envelope forever, i finally out them where they belong.

i have been in a transitional period from the rainbow hippie decor of high school to a more grown up "industrial farmhouse" look. so of course, the rainbow tapestry had to go.

before, this took up a wall of our bedroom. i never noticed how dark and small it made the room seem until i took it off.

i filled the space with those lovely wedding photos for only $2,one for the clothespins and one for twine (dollar tree!). and ta da! we are soooo much happier with this, and it's a great start for new decor in that room. (Zoot approved)
